Founded in 2009 and operating as an exclusive resource program since 2016, Longleaf Academy partners with area private schools — including St. Ann — to provide specialized instruction for students with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. Their mission: to empower children to become self-sufficient, intrinsic learners equipped to achieve academically.
What Is Longleaf Academy?
Longleaf Academy is a non-profit educational resource program that specializes in teaching students with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. Rather than operating as a standalone school, Longleaf functions as a collaborative partner with private schools — working alongside St. Ann to extend the quality of support available to students who need it most.
Their approach uses research-based curriculum that is multi-sensory, scientifically sound, systematic, and cumulative. Instruction engages visual, auditory, and kinesthetic-tactile pathways simultaneously — meeting students where they are and building lasting skills over time.
